Barbara Grosh holds a BS from MIT and a PhD in economics from the University of California at Berkeley. She lived in and did research in Kenya for several years, where she studied the performance of state-owned corporations, a.k.a. parastatals. After 9 years of teaching at the university level, she quit to stay home with her young daughter. Now that her daughter is in school, Ms. Grosh has a second career. In her spare time she walks her dogs in the woods, volunteers with various civic organizations and writes fiction.
